BAEOP Student Scholarship Recipient
Andy Kreek, a student at Sammamish High School, was the BAEOP student scholarship winner for 2005. His application was one of eight received and evaluated by the Scholarship Committee, headed by Christina Kwong with members Paula Jo Brave, Maribel Estrada and Wendy Fischer assisting. They were impressed by all of the candidates and devoted many hours to come to the difficult decision of choosing only one.
Andy wrote the following to express his gratitude to the members of BAEOP. “Thank you for awarding me the BAEOP scholarship. I am honored by your investment in my education. In a few weeks I will graduate from Sammamish High School. For the last two years, I have also been participating in the Running Start program and I will graduate with an Associate of Arts Degree from Bellevue Community College. In the fall I will be attending the University of Chicago, where I plan to major in mathematics. I also intend to continue my pursuit of vocal performance and swimming. During the summer, I will be working for my second year as a lifeguard at City of Bellevue beaches.”
