The purpose for which this Association is organized is to study and discuss the interests of the educational office personnel of the Bellevue School District; to aid in professional development and to promote professional activities among its members; and to pool ideas and ideals toward a finer service to the school district and to the community.
The BAEOP Board met last month and discussed several things that we wanted to pass on to our members. We decided that it was time to update our website, with a new color scheme and format. Our Website Manager, Crystal Aguilar has done a great job. Please check it out and let us know what you think. If you have any suggestions about how we could make it better, please let us know. Over the past few years we have heard from several members and potential members who felt our name, BAEOP (Bellevue Association of Educational Office Professionals), did not appear to inclusive of all potential members, because not everyone works in an office setting. We reassured them that any classified support staff working for Bellevue School District are eligible to be a member.
This topic has come up again recently and the board has made a recommendation that we change our name to Bellevue Educational Support Team (BEST), which we feel will include all potential members so no one will feel left out.
With this recommended change we will need to propose a bylaw amendment. If the amendment passes, we will change our name to Bellevue Educational Support Team (BEST).
This notice is the official notification of our proposed bylaw amendment, which will be voted on later this month by email.
ARTICLE I NAME
The name of the organization shall be Bellevue Association of Educational Office Professionals.
ARTICLE I NAME
The name of the organization shall be Bellevue Educational Support Team (BEST).
Note: With the adoption of Article I, we will change any reference to BAEOP throughout the bylaws to become Bellevue Educational Support Team (BEST).
Along with this change, we will need to change our logo. More information on this after the bylaw vote later this month.
